A valid driving license is compulsory for anyone driving a vehicle in Qatar. You can renew a driving license through the Ministry of Interior online website or Metrash2. This service is available for Qataris and residents holding smart ID cards.

How to renew a driving license online:

Step 1: Log in with your smartcard to the e-services portal of MOI or Metrash2.

Step 2: Select "Traffic Services" then "Renew Driving License".

Step 3: Select whether to renew your driving license or that of another sponsored person.

Step 4: View the driving license information.

Step 5: Specify a new driving license delivery option.

Step 6: Pay due fees and print receipts. QAR 500 for Qataris (ten years), in addition to QAR 20 delivery fees (if applicable). QAR 250 for residents (five years), in addition to QAR 20 delivery fees (if applicable).

Driving license can be renewed only within six months ahead of or upon its expiry date and this service can be obtained by civilians of light vehicle driving licenses.
