As part of its national efforts to ensure people's safety and support the government guidelines in these uniquely challenging circumstances, the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) Doha (QFC) Branch has donated hundreds of thousands of medical gloves to Qatar Charity and Qatar Red Crescent.
600,000 disposable medical gloves and 100,000 surgical gloves were donated to Qatar Charity and Qatar Red Crescent.
This distribution comes in line with ICBC Doha's corporate social responsibility program to support the local community and to limit the impact of coronavirus through health and hygiene measures to help alleviate the shortage of personal protective equipment.

Zheng Chunyi, Managing Director of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), said: "In recognition of the dedication of the frontline workers who are fighting COVID-19 and their ongoing efforts to protect the Qatari community, ICBC is proud to support the country battle against the current pandemic. It is our core responsibility as a company operating in Qatar to offer our support to the community during these difficult times."
“Qatar Charity and Qatar Red Crescent are incredibly valuable resources to many different segments in the society, and both organizations had handled much larger responsibilities. We are delighted to support our community during this challenging period,” he added.

In October 2008, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) formally entered into the Middle East region, establishing Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Middle East) Limited (regulated by the DFSA) and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Doha (QFC) Branch (authorized by QFCRA) in quick succession and commencing business.
This has enabled ICBC to become the pioneer of China-owned banks in the Middle East region. With its superior market position, excellent client base, multiple product structures, strong innovative ability, and prominent brand value, it allowed ICBC to support various infrastructure financing demands in Qatar and the Middle East.
