The Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF) held a condolence meeting to pay tribute to the 12 Indian nationals who lost their lives in the recent Ras Laffan accident.
The gathering brought together India’s Ambassador to Qatar HE Vipul, officials from the Embassy of India, ICBF office-bearers, community leaders, representatives of Indian community organisations, and company officials, who offered their condolences and expressed solidarity with the families of the victims.
During the meeting, ICBF recalled the extensive efforts undertaken in the aftermath of the tragedy. In close coordination with the Embassy of India in Qatar, the relevant Qatari authorities, healthcare institutions, and the company management, the forum assisted in completing the required legal procedures and facilitating the dignified repatriation of the mortal remains to India.
ICBF said the coordinated efforts ensured that all possible assistance was extended to the bereaved families during the difficult period following the incident.
The forum also expressed its appreciation to Qatar’s Ministry of Interior, Hamad Medical Corporation, the Embassy of India in Qatar, and the company management for their prompt cooperation, compassion, and professionalism in responding to the tragedy.
The meeting concluded with prayers for the departed souls and messages of support for the bereaved families, with participants expressing hope that they find strength and comfort in the days ahead.
