The Qatar International Ice Hockey League (QIIHL) is back after its pause during the 2019-2020 season and is now inviting new players to join them on the ice.

With all of their games taking place at the Villaggio Mall ice skating arena, ice hockey players now have the opportunity to showcase their skills right here in Qatar!

QIIHL runs the recreational adult league from September to May each year. Moreover, it normally comprises of two divisions: division A and division B.

Before being drafted onto a team, players are expected to skate during a shinny session to demonstrate a basic understanding of hockey and to confirm they have all the equipment needed to play.

Shinny sessions are currently ongoing and are held during all of the off times for the league, typically during holidays such as Christmas, spring break and the summer.

You can sign up now for the shinny sessions via the BenchApp which is available on both the App Store and Google Play. Once you have downloaded the app, make sure to search for “Qshinny”.

Furthermore, league games are played two times a week on Sundays from 6 pm till 10 pm, Tuesdays from 7 pm till 10 pm, and Fridays from 10:30 am till 1 pm. There are games three times per week, but each individual team plays twice a week.
