Qatar has officially launched a new 10-year long-term residency programme aimed at attracting global entrepreneurial talent and senior executives, with applications now open via the Qatar Manpower Solutions Company’s Jusour online platform.
The initiative was unveiled by Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani during his address at the opening of Web Summit Qatar 2026 on Feb 1, 2026, encouraging Qatar’s push to diversify its economy and position itself as a regional hub for innovation and leadership.
The programme seeks to provide long-term stability and confidence for high-impact professionals wishing to live, work, and invest in Qatar. It aims to foster sustainable personal and professional lives while building a supportive ecosystem for business growth.
The residency programme consists of two main streams:
Entrepreneur Residency
Designed for early-stage and scaling founders who secure endorsement from a recognised Qatar incubator such as Qatar Development Bank, Qatar FinTech Hub, Qatar Business Incubation Centre, Scale7, or Qatar Science & Technology Park. This track offers long-term residency with renewal options and business support benefits.
Key benefits for entrepreneurs include:
• Up to 10-year renewable residency
• Sponsorship of dependents and relatives
• Family visit visas and domestic worker sponsorship
• Asset ownership rights
• Access to tailored mentorship and incubator support
• Exclusive merchant discounts to help lower the cost of living and support business growth
Executive Residency
Targeted at senior professionals already living in Qatar with a valid QID, this track allows executives to transition smoothly to long-term residency via employer nomination. Senior roles such as CEOs, chairpersons, and directors meeting defined criteria are eligible.
Benefits for executives mirror those of the entrepreneur stream and include the ability to retain residency status even if they change or lose employment – strengthening long-term stability and family security.
The programme forms part of a broader state strategy to attract and retain skilled professionals, enhance economic diversification, and create a welcoming environment for innovation. It reflects Qatar’s commitment to making the country a second home for global talent backed by progressive residency and business policies.
Applications are now live on the Jusour website, and candidates can begin the process based on their eligibility and track requirements.
