The third edition of Traditional Handicrafts Exhibition took place at the Cultural Village Foundation, Katara and displayed a variety of native products.
The 10- day exhibition showcased the culture and traditions of Qatar, Ethiopia, Syria, Palestine, Tunisia, Morocco, Sudan and Iran.
Local Handcrafted products at the Handicraft Gallery featured miniature dhows, batoola, boxes, dolls, falcon hoods and products made from sadu weaving, among others.

Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, Katara General Manager, led the opening of the exhibition and was attended by ambassadors and representatives of the diplomatic missions of participating countries.
He expressed Katara’s role in supporting and encouraging traditional craftsmen and their practice, portraying their commitment to promote the civilization and cultural aspect of the Qatari heritage.
He believes that this exhibition will create links and opportunities for the exchange of artisanry knowledge and encourage new generations of artisans to practice the traditional handicraft.
Conducted by specialised trainers, Katara has also launched a training programme for young people who share their love for the local traditional handicraft.
The exhibition is open daily from 9 am to 12 noon and from 4 pm to 10 pm while the stalls of participating countries are open from 4 pm to 10 pm.
