Majdoline Nasrallah’s ‘Witnesses Without Eyewitnesses’ exhibition opens at Katara on October 6

Al Markhiya Gallery will open “Witnesses Without Eyewitnesses,” an exhibition by Palestinian visual artist Majdoline Nasrallah, on Tuesday, October 6, 2026.

The exhibition will be presented at the gallery’s space in the Katara Art Center, Building 5, Katara Cultural Village.

Everyday objects transformed by displacement

Through a collection of artworks, Nasrallah explores what happens to familiar objects when they are placed within contexts of violence, displacement and loss.

Blankets, cups, shoes and doors — objects normally associated with ordinary daily life — become carriers of memory and witnesses to experiences that may no longer have people present to recount them.

The works consider how these objects can retain traces of routines, relationships and domestic life even after their original surroundings have been disrupted.

Between tenderness and violence

The exhibition explores the fragile boundary between normality and collapse, asking how tenderness and terror can exist within the same space.

Nasrallah also examines the relationship between people, objects and places, particularly where private memories intersect with collective experiences of displacement.

Her work draws inspiration from mass displacement and the ways material objects can preserve fragments of human memory when places and lives are transformed.
