We were on the hunt for a fabulous Iftar that served Middle Eastern favorites that still tasted ultimately homemade.

We were successful! After some diligent tent hopping over the past several days, we landed up at the Doha Marriott Hotel's Iftar. Serving Sudanese, Qatari, Moroccan, Turkish, Indian, Lebanese, and... Egyptian cuisines.

If you're one for delicious, simple, light, homemade food... then this is your kind of place. Everything was well seasoned and tasted like it was made in the kitchen of a grandparent.

They had an impressive spread of salads that included all regular dips like hummus, mutabel and baba ghanoush. It didn't end there. The salad bar was complemented by a generous fresh sea food section.

The Indian corner served all the best street food delights: samosas, cutlets, pakoras, and so many more. All were well made and freshly prepared.

There is also good news for those wanting to try Qatari cuisine. The Doha Marriott Hotel's Iftar served an array of Qatari dishes from Machboos to Jareesh, they were all flavorful and accompanied with high quality meats and seafood.

It's nice to try an array of cuisines from several countries that preserved their original authenticity. There were no fusions or overly complicated dishes. Simple dishes, with high quality ingredients, packed with flavor.

There was a vast array of delicious foods, we could barely scratch the surface and will likely need to revisit.

The iftar is offering a comprehensive Arabian experience. From live camels and falcons, to a henna artist, and cuisines covering various countries, the Doha Marriott are treating their guests to an exciting cultural treat.

The iftar is priced at QAR185 adult and children 6 to 12 dine at 50% off, children under 6 are free.
