As one of the most awaited and special occasions in the Islamic calendar, Eid al-Fitr, nears, the Qatar Calendar House (QCH) has announced that the first day of the celebration could be on May 13, 2021.
This is based on astronomical calculations by QCH specialists. According to their estimation, Thursday, May 13, 2021, could be the first day of the month of Shawwal and the first day of the blessed Eid al-Fitr 2021.
In this light, QCH mentioned that Wednesday, May 12, 2021, will be the last day of the holy month of Ramadan 1442 AH.

However, the official decision regarding the start of Shawwal will be announced by the Moon Sighting Committee at the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) in Qatar.
The crescent of the month of Shawwal for the year 1442 AH will be born on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 and that at 10 pm local time it is impossible to see the crescent on the evening of the investigation day in the sky of Qatar and the Arab and Islamic countries because the crescent of the month of Shawwal was not born at sunset on the day of the investigation, stated Engineer Faisal Al-Ansari, Executive Director of Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ansari Complex.
