Meta announced the availability of its smart assistant "Muse" through an app dedicated to "iPads", in a move that expands the scope of use of the assistant, which was available on "iPhone" and "Android" phones.
According to a report published by TechCrunch, the assistant is highly text-based, making it less complicated to transfer to iPads compared to apps that rely more on photos and videos.
Since muse launched on iOS and Android on Sept. 8, it has more than 6.6 million installs, according to estimates by market research firm Sensor Tower.
Muse allows users to link their accounts and various services to it, to help them keep track of emails, meetings, bills, and more, as well as perform tasks such as booking restaurants, ordering groceries, setting goals and making purchases.
These services appear within Muse under the name "Connectors" or "Connectors," and users can selectively add and log in to them, depending on the permissions they wish to grant the assistant to manage aspects of their digital lives.
Meta also recently announced new retail partners, allowing the Muse Assistant to browse store locations and complete purchases on behalf of users.
However, shopping experiences may face some issues with the novelty of this technology, as some sites may treat AI agents as robots and block their access to their services.
