Qatar's leadership and competent authorities continue to make remarkable efforts in managing the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation in the country.
In addition to several measures aimed at limiting the spread of the disease, the country is making sure it has the appropriate facilities and adequate medical equipment to treat and care for patients affected by the infectious disease.
Earlier this week, the country's Minister of Public Health Her Excellency Dr Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari visited Hamad Medical Corporation's Communicable Disease Center (CDC) where she was briefed about the ongoing treatment of COVID-19 patients. She also met with the infection control teams to review patient care protocols for such patients.
During her visit, HE the Minister also inspected the Center's new clinic that has been set up to collect blood plasma from patients who have recovered from COVID-19.
Yesterday, HE Dr Al Kuwari met with two patients who have beat the disease.
During the meeting, the two patients shared their COVID-19 experience as well as their treatment journey with HE the Minister.
One of the patients, a 40-year-old, Qatari, Faisal Al-Athba said he has fully recovered from the virus and became one of the first patients to donate blood plasma to CDC's new clinic.

Al-Athba spoke highly of the care he received at the center. He also appreciated the new advanced service that focuses on collecting plasma from recovered patients and then transfuse them into a COVID-19 positive patient undergoing treatment.
The other patient HE the Minister met was Juan Micau, a 39-year-old bank worker from the Philippines.
Micau told her HE Dr Al Kuwari that he might have contracted the virus while on vacation. He said after arriving back on March 11, he developed some symptoms such as a sore throat and cough.
Upon the advice of his employer, Micau said he visited Al Khor Hospital for the COVID-19 test. When the result came out positive he was admitted to HMC's Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital for treatment.
After a two-week treatment, he was fully recovered and discharged from the hospital on March 29.
As of now, 415 patients have recovered from the disease in Qatar while over 3,600 are under treatment.
Health authorities in Qatar continue to implement the highest level of monitoring, detection, and management procedures to deal with the virus, the public has been advised to follow certain measures to safeguard their health.
