With Eid Al Adha almost upon us, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) has prepared and ensured the cleanliness of most public facilities such as places of worship, streets, and entertainment venues in Qatar to enhance the experience of the celebration for all.

A top official of the Ministry has confirmed that all preparations for Eid Al Adha festivities have been completed.

Muqbil Madhour Al Shammari, Director General of the Cleanliness Department at the MME, said the Ministry developed special plans and programs to ensure the cleanliness of all these public venues that are commonly used by residents during this special occasion.

“Necessary plans and programs have been developed, especially in terms of providing 24-hour field monitoring teams, including those for cleaning of streets, entertainment venues and areas for prayers,” he said.

The Ministry has particularly urged citizens and residents to cooperate with its efforts to keep the recreational areas, facilities, squares, public squares, and beaches clean during their picnics.

The public is advised not to distort these places by throwing personal waste, aluminum cans and plastic.

MME also called on the public to play their part in ensuring the success of the Ministry's cleanliness programs by using the containers allocated for waste in the specified areas.

The cleanliness department is fully ready to provide all the required services through the hotline or the site of the ministry or social networking sites, it added.

Earlier this week, MME had also said it had readied most beaches in Qatar to welcome visitors of all categories.
