Ministry of Interior: Metrash2 portal lists six new services

The Ministry of Interior (MOI) has announced on its social media yesterday that Metrash2 will now feature the addition of six new services to simplify and enable digitization of its services. This listing includes Recruitment Applications Review Committee services, visa services, and employer change services too.

A Twitter thread and Instagram post explained each of these new additions in detail and simplified the process of each service.

Service for changing Personal Employer and those on similar terms: Under the ‘Residency Services’ on Metrash2, employers are now allowed to access and apply for the ‘Employer Change’ service. The said service is applicable to personal employers and their status, including owners of fishing boats and farms. The application for employer change along with the required documents must be attached by the new employers on the portal. The Review Committee will be electronically designated the request for their decision.

Employer Change Service for Visa Holders: An expatriate who works inside the country on a work visa can avail of this service to change his employer to another one when NOC is provided.

Changing the Sponsor for Family: Under the ‘Residency Services’ on Metrash2, the new service enables ‘Employer Change-Family Relationships’. Sponsorship of an expatriate can be changed from one family member to another under this. The application for sponsorship change along with requisite documents has to be submitted by the new host. This will again be electronically delegated to the Review Committee for their decision.

Exceptional Visa Extension Service: Under the ‘Visa Services’ window on Metrash2, applicants can avail exceptional viextensionsion for applicable business visa, tourist visa, and official visa. Under specified conditions, the service allows extension of the said visas and the applicants are required to submit necessary documents to present their case. This will be assessed electronically.

Visa service for Newborn: Under ‘Visa Services’ on Metrash2, applicants can access visa service for a newborn born to a mother on a family visit visa in the country. Provided certain conditions are met, the host of the family visa can apply for a family visa to be issued to the mother for the newborn baby.

Commercial Establishment Registration: Under this new service, establishment registration (computer card) can be applied for by private, government, and semi-government companies. This can be found under the ‘General Services’ tab on Metrash2.
