Ministry of Education Outlines 2026-2027 Priorities With 250+ Public School Principals

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education brought together principals from more than 250 public schools to review priorities, plans and preparations for the 2026-2027 academic year.

The meeting was held at Le Royal Méridien Place Vendôme Lusail in the presence of Dr Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, alongside Ministry leaders and public school principals from different educational stages.

Al Nuaimi outlined the roadmap for the new academic year, identifying two central priorities for education in Qatar: empowering teachers and improving student performance. He also stressed the importance of creating school environments that encourage innovation and investing continuously in the professional development of teaching and administrative staff.

He called for reducing routine administrative burdens so that greater attention can be focused on what happens inside classrooms, while emphasising that a school's success should be measured by its impact on students' development, knowledge and character. He also highlighted the importance of early and effective communication with parents.

Ibrahim Abdullah Rashid Al-Muhannadi, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs, said the next phase would focus on partnership, teamwork and closer engagement with the education field. He stressed the importance of reducing non-educational burdens on teachers and creating safe and engaging school environments that earn parents' confidence.

The meeting also included presentations on operational plans and academic initiatives, as well as updates on school readiness, facilities, furniture and supplies ahead of the new academic year. It concluded with an extended question-and-answer session allowing school principals to discuss educational and operational matters directly with Ministry leaders.
