As Qatar prepares to welcome cooler, more pleasant weather, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) has announced registration and fee details for the winter camping season 2020-21.

According to the announcement, the winter camping season in Qatar will commence on October 11, 2020.

Those who are interested in registering can do so through government service centers or MME’s website. Applications can also be submitted through the Aoun application.

The registration process will be carried out in three phases:

Phase 1: registration will open on October 11, 2020.

Camping will be permitted from October 13 at the following sites: Al Shamal, Al Ghashamiyah, Sealine, Ras Matbakh, Arida, Zekrit, Al Nqian, Al Kharara, Ashiraj,  Al Sariyah, and Umm Al Maa.

Phase 2: registration will begin on October 14, 2020

Camping will be allowed from October 16, 2020, at Al Reem Reserve, Al Marona, Al Mazrouha, Umm Al Aafa’i, Al Hasham, Abu Zahlof, Al Zubara, Al Udaid, Al Khuraij South, and Bu Samra.

Phase 3: registration to commence on October 18, 2020

Camping will start from October 20, 2020, at Rawdat Rashed, Rawdat Aisha, Al Khor, Al Waab, Imgaitna, Al Ghariyah, Al Mufair, Ras Al Nouf, Al Otouryah, Al Sane’ah, and Al Rees West.

Fee details

A QR10,000 security deposit is required. This will be refundable after the season ends and the inspection of the area is carried out according to Ministry requirements.

Additionally, the below fee will apply for non-refundable permits:

Marine areas: QR 10,000

Protected areas/Natural reserves: QR 10,000

Land areas: QR 3000

The Ministry will provide garbage containers and cleaning services at the beaches and the camping sites and officials will inspect and monitor as per routine.
