The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) has launched the second edition of its guide regulating student admission and registration in private schools and kindergartens for 2026.
The announcement was made during a press conference attended by HE Undersecretary Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, Assistant Undersecretary for Private Education Affairs Omar Abdulaziz Al Naama, and senior ministry officials, along with school operators and embassy-affiliated institutions.
Focus on growth, data accuracy and system efficiency
Speaking at the event, Dr. Al Nuaimi said Qatar’s education sector continues to develop steadily, with improvements in service quality and operational efficiency.
He highlighted the growing number of students across schools and universities, noting that accurate data plays a key role in planning and decision-making.
“Reliable data helps manage school capacity, streamline admissions and transfers, and ensure students receive the right support,” he said.
Comprehensive guide to standardise admissions
Dr. Rania Yousry Mohamed, Director of the Private Schools and Kindergartens Department, presented the updated guide, describing it as a unified reference for all private schools in Qatar.
She said the guide is designed to simplify and clarify procedures while ensuring fairness for all students.
The guide includes:
- Clear age requirements for each educational stage
- A list of required documents for registration
- Standardised procedures for admission, transfer and withdrawal
- Guidelines for handling exceptional cases
- Approved equivalency tables across different curricula

Special provisions for embassy-affiliated schools
The guide also addresses schools affiliated with embassies.
Dr. Rania said it respects their educational identity while ensuring compliance with Qatar’s regulatory framework. The aim is to balance flexibility with consistent quality standards and student rights.
New digital platform to simplify registration
During the event, Academic Advisor Jassim Al Kuwari introduced a mandatory education enrolment platform.
The platform is part of MOEHE’s digital transformation efforts and supports the implementation of Law No. 25 of 2001 on compulsory education.
Key features include:
- A unified online system for student registration
- Simplified procedures for parents and guardians
- Improved access to education for all residents and citizens
- Faster processing and reduced paperwork
Al Kuwari said the platform will help ensure every child in Qatar has access to education while improving efficiency and service delivery.
