The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has completely trashed reports circulating on social media that a girl had been abducted in the Al Rayyan area, reported Qatar Tribune.
In a tweet, the ministrey debunked the reports as totally false.
There is no truth in rumours spreading in social media about the abduction of a girl in Rayyan area. Please do not spread rumours and anonymous information. #MoI_Qatar
The MoI has also warned people to keep off from spreading rumours and disseminating false information. The Ministry said such people will be brought before the law and punished.
Rumour mongering and spreading stories from unknown sources will harm others and those involved will be held legally accountable. #MoI_Qatar
