In line with the steps Qatar has taken to safeguard the health of the population against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the Ministry of Interior (MOI) has urged citizens and residents to use the Ministry’s e-services for the renewal of any document related to vehicles.

Earlier, the Ministry had announced that it has temporarily halted all technical examinations, complementing the State’s efforts to contain COVID-19.

However, the Ministry, represented by the General Directorate of Traffic, will continue with its patrols and seize vehicles that go against technical specifications and conditions.

According to the Ministry, as many as 11,575 people have benefited from the exemption of technical examination.

In addition to this, at least 8,361 people used the Metrash2 application from March 19 to 23 to renew their vehicle registrations.

All vehicle owners can make use of the electronic services that MOI provides via Metrash2 and its website without going to any of the directorate's various departments, the Ministry added.

There are more than 40 services related to driving licenses, number plates, violations, traffic accidents, traffic certificates and other services on these platforms.

Other than the Ministry’s e-services, Fahes Company, in cooperation with the directorate, had earlier launched an initiative to exempt vehicles from technical examinations until further notice.

To avail this, individuals can complete the required procedures through the Woqood application.

The directorate also mentioned the possibility of insuring vehicles through mobile applications and websites of insurance companies to complete vehicle ownership renewals.

Meanwhile, health authorities in the country continue to implement the highest level of monitoring, detection, and management procedures to deal with the virus, the public has been advised to follow certain measures to safeguard their health.
