Under Qatar’s digitization efforts to make it easier for citizens and residents to access services, the Ministry of Interior (MOI) has launched an E-Wallet on the Metrash2 app.
The E-Wallet will store official documents, including Qatari ID card, residence permit, driving license, vehicle registration, and ownership of fancy/significant number.
The public can use this new service when approaching different governmental departments and sections of MOI to avail services.

The service can also be used to display the documents to security patrols when they demand it. However, the Ministry highlighted that the E-Wallet does not replace the plastic cards.
On the launch of the E-Wallet, Assistant Director-General of Information Systems Brigadier Ibrahim Al Harami explained that this is a new window in the Metrash2 app, which aims to enable the public to access digital copies of personal documents to use in the transactions of MOI in the first stage.
This step comes within the framework of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to enhance ease of access to the Ministry’s services, saving them time and efforts of the public, Brigadier Al Harami underlined.

He further pointed out that the new service allows citizens and residents of Qatar to complete transactions in the shortest possible time at the service outlets.
MOI’s e-services have seen great development in recent years, particularly the Metrash2 app where the number of services available now goes over 200 services.
