As Qatar continues to ease COVID-19 restrictions gradually, events are now making their way back into the country.
According to an announcement by MoPH, the resumption of international sports events and competitions, as well as international conferences, exhibitions, and cultural events, has been allowed since October 1, 2020.
However, these are subject to compliance with precautionary and preventive measures outlined by the Ministry.
The resumption of local events has also been permitted under the launch of Phase 4 of the gradual lifting of COVID-19 restrictions on September 1, 2020.
The MoPH highlighted that in addition to following the required precautionary measures, event organizers must seek prior approval from the Ministry to hold the event.
The organizers will have to submit an application form, available here, and provide details of the event as well as information regarding the venue and participants.

The process of acquiring MoPH approval is in addition to any other necessary approvals by other authorities, the Ministry underlined.
Among the application requirements stated on the form, the Ministry specifies that the organizer must not commit to any event before seeking approval from MoPH.
As part of the application, organizers are also asked to sign a declaration confirming their commitment to adhere to the precautionary measures recommended by MoPH.
Inspection teams from the Ministry will conduct surprise visits to the event to ensure adherence to the precautionary measures before and during the event.
