As authorities in Qatar continue to scale up efforts to minimize the risk of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) from spreading among the population, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) bans Shisha/hookah in all the restaurants and cafes operating in the country, starting from today until further notice.

The decision comes considering the current health conditions as well as in line with preventive measures to prevent infection with Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The Ministry's statement stressed that anyone who violates this decision will be held accountable.

The MoPH urges all entities and individuals to follow preventive measures to ensure their safety and the safety of the community.

The MoPH has launched a dedicated hotline (16000) to answer any public queries about the novel coronavirus.
