With the easing of COVID-19 restrictions under Phase 3, many residents who have been stuck abroad earlier due to travel limitations are making their way back to Qatar.

Applications for the Exceptional Entry Permit to Qatar went live on Qatar Portal, on August 1, 2020.

However, in line with preventive and precautionary measures, residents coming back to Qatar must follow quarantine guidelines as outlined by the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH).

Passengers who arrive in Qatar from countries identified as low-risk will quarantine at home for one week, the Ministry specified. Here's a revised version of the low-risk countries

Those who arrive from any other country will have to quarantine at a government-approved hotel for a week, followed by another week of quarantine at home.

For a safe and effective home quarantine experience, MoPH shared the below guidelines in a series of posts of social media yesterday.

The MoPH had issued a set of guidelines for home quarantine recently, which it reiterated through a series of posts on social media yesterday.

"To protect yourself, your family, and the community as a whole, it is important that you adhere to the following guidelines during your home quarantine period," the Ministry said.

- On arrival, avoid any form of physical contact with family members.

- Stay in a separate room with an en-suite bathroom at home with adequate ventilation and do not leave the room during the quarantine period.

- Download the Ehteraz app. During the quarantine period, the color code on your app will be 'yellow'. It will turn to 'green' once you have completed the quarantine period and your COVID-19 test result is negative.

- Do not allow visitors to your house while you're in quarantine.

- Use a tissue for coughing or sneezing and dispose of it immediately in a lined and closed waste bin.

- Follow proper hand hygiene by regularly washing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Alternatively, you can use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

- Only one member of the family should be allowed to provide care to you. Your caregiver should wear a mask and gloves every time they enter your room and should dispose of the mask and gloves and wash their hands immediately after leaving.

- Keep your dishes, cups, eating utensils, towels, bedding and other items separate and only for your use. Wash these items separately from those used by other household members.

- Sanitize frequently touched surfaces and items at least once a day, including tables, door handles, and mobile phones. Use single-use gloves when cleaning. Dispose of the gloves and wash your hands thoroughly when finished.

- Keep a healthy balanced diet. Drink enough water and get enough sleep.

- Keep the public health team updated with your health status through their daily calls and regular home visits. Inform them immediately if you develop any flu-like symptoms such as fever, cough, body aches, or change in taste or smell.
