As Qatar entered the second phase of the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions from Friday, June 18, 2021, the cabinet obligated all employees and workers in the public and private sectors to conduct a rapid test for the COVID-19 (Rapid Antigen) approved by the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH).
Rapid antigen tests should be done on a weekly basis, for employees and workers who have not received or completed doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Employees and workers are exempted from conducting this examination if they have completed doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, recovered from the disease, or whose health status, according to a medical report approved by the Ministry, doesn’t allow taking the anti-coronavirus vaccine.
Yesterday, the MoPH tweeted that, “Anyone needing a Rapid antigen Test to detect COVID-19 virus antigens is reminded that these are delivered through private healthcare facilities”.
Rapid Antigen Tests require a simple nasal swab and the results are usually available within 15 minutes.

The MoPH advises checking with the local private healthcare provider to book an appointment for the test if needed.
