"Booster doses are available to anyone aged 12 years and over who took their second vaccine shot more than 6 months ago," the Ministry announced on Twitter.
Booster doses are also available at all 28 Primary Health Care Corporation health sites, the Lusail Drive Through Center, and the Qatar Vaccination Center for Business and Industry in Bu Garn, according to the Ministry of Public Health.
Because COVID-19 is still circulating in many countries throughout the world, MOPH strongly advises anybody planning to travel abroad to get their booster vaccine before departure if they haven't had their second dose in at least six months.
To keep their Gold Vaccinated Status on Ehteraz, all eligible individuals are recommended to acquire the booster vaccine as soon as possible, but no later than 12 months after their second dosage.
Booster vaccinations are offered at all Primary Health Care Corporation health clinics, and patients who are eligible for the booster vaccine dosage are being contacted directly by PHCC to schedule an appointment. Anyone who is eligible and has not yet been contacted can make an appointment by calling the PHCC helpline at 4027 7077. Appointments for COVID-19 vaccinations can also be scheduled through PHCC's bilingual mobile app, Nar'aakom.
MOPH emphasized the importance of calling the number above or using the Nar'aakom mobile application to schedule an appointment before visiting a health clinic for the COVID-19 booster immunization.
MOPH explained that the high rate of vaccination within Qatar's population has been one of the most important factors in Qatar's successful COVID-19 strategy in controlling the spread of the virus and has meant that the number of new daily COVID-19 cases, hospital admissions, and deaths has remained very low recently.
