According to a statement by MoTC, together the two parties “aim to develop and manage mobility and transportation projects as an integrated network compatible with other modes of transportation in an efficient, economic, safe and environment-friendly fashion.”
MoTC and Ashghal will work toward fulfilling the needs of Qatar in the areas of mobility and transportation. This will be in line with the Second National Development Strategy (2018-2022) and Qatar National Vision 2030, the statement adds.
MoTC acting assistant undersecretary of Land Transport Affairs Hamad Essa Abdulla and Ashghal president Dr Saad bin Ahmed al-Muhannadi signed the agreement.
The MoTC statement further explains that the MoU covers the roles, mission and responsibilities of the two sides based on Amiri decisions.
Both parties will activate a joint working mechanism for planning, studying, designing, implementing, operating, maintaining and managing road projects in the country.
The efforts will be carried out under “approved development plans, implementation priorities and by following up the implementation according to the set delivery timelines,” the Ministry stated.
