MotoGP Reveals 22-Round 2027 Calendar With Qatar Race on 14 March

MotoGP has revealed its 2027 calendar, featuring 22 Grands Prix across five continents between March and November. The record-setting season, which coincides with the beginning of a new era of motorcycles, will introduce two new venues.

The first new addition is Buenos Aires as MotoGP further strengthens its position in South America. The championship's return to Argentina will follow visits to Brazil for the season launch in Rio de Janeiro and its second visit to Goiânia for round three.

The Autódromo Oscar y Juan Gálvez, located in Argentina's capital, Buenos Aires, will welcome MotoGP for the fourth round of the 2027 season.

The second addition is MotoGP's anticipated debut at the new Adelaide Street Circuit, which will stage the penultimate Grand Prix of the year. South Australia will host the 21st round, with championship honours potentially at stake as MotoGP races through the heart of Adelaide in a setting unlike any other on the calendar.

The schedule combines leading classic events with the two new venues and several of the world's most celebrated motorcycle racing circuits, setting the route for MotoGP's new era in 2027.

Asia and the Americas: First Leg

The season will begin on a global stage with its official launch at Botafogo Beach in Rio de Janeiro. Racing will then start at Buriram in Thailand, where the increasingly established venue and its packed grandstands will host the opening round for another season.

MotoGP will travel next to the floodlit Lusail International Circuit for the Qatar Grand Prix on 14 March, making Qatar the second round of the championship.

The series will then return to Brazil and the vibrant city of Goiânia, the capital of Goiás state, for round three. Buenos Aires will stage the fourth round at MotoGP's new Argentine venue before the first leg concludes further north in Austin, Texas, at the Circuit of the Americas.

The European Run: Second Leg

The European section will begin amid the atmosphere of Jerez's packed grandstands in Spain before moving to France, where the Marseillaise will be heard on the starting grid at the classic Le Mans circuit.

The Tuscan hills of Mugello will stage round eight before Barcelona welcomes MotoGP to one of the championship's most iconic host cities. The series will then move to another established venue for the Dutch Grand Prix at the TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands.

MotoGP, described by the championship as Germany's biggest sporting event, will arrive at the Sachsenring in mid-July. Brno and its distinctive stadium section will then host the final race before the championship pauses for its summer break.

Competition will resume at the vast Silverstone circuit for the British Grand Prix before moving to the hills of Spielberg and the Red Bull Ring. The Austrian event moves forward by several weeks to a new place on the calendar and will conclude the championship's August programme.

The San Marino Grand Prix will take place at Misano on Italy's Adriatic coast from 10 to 12 September. MotorLand will then welcome the championship back to Spain for the Aragon Grand Prix.

The final part of the mid-season European run will take MotoGP to Portimão, which has moved forward in the schedule to host the last European round in early October. The championship will then begin another series of overseas races.

Asia and Oceania: Third Leg

The final phase will begin at Mobility Resort Motegi in Japan, described as the circuit with the heaviest braking demands on the calendar, as the championship approaches the rounds that will decide its titles.

Sepang will stage the Malaysian Grand Prix earlier than usual after switching positions on the calendar. MotoGP will head to the glittering metropolis of Kuala Lumpur for the 19th round in October before travelling south to Mandalika on the island of Lombok for the Indonesian Grand Prix.

Only two rounds will remain after Indonesia to decide the champions and future legends of the sport: Adelaide and Valencia.

South Australia's first appearance on the MotoGP calendar will stage the penultimate round and present a new challenge for the grid. Racing through the heart of Adelaide, the event is expected to be a watershed moment for MotoGP at a new street circuit with a distinctive urban backdrop.

Valencia will once again host the final celebration of the season. The Mediterranean event at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Cheste will conclude the record-setting 2027 campaign on 28 November, with the venue's distinctive amphitheatre atmosphere bringing another global MotoGP season to a close.
