Mowasalat (Karwa) has announced that its electric vehicles have saved over 1.6 million kilograms of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) emissions by transporting passengers over more than 1.8 million kilometers during the first phase of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™.
A total of 1,684,256 kilograms of CO2 were prevented from entering the atmosphere, the same amount taken in by trees in a single year as 12,205 trees.
Mowasalat released these stats earlier on their socials.

Mowasalat announced on Twitter that 900 electronic buses (e-buses) were used as tournament bus services and as eco-friendly public transportation during the first half of the tournament (November 20–December 6). There were a total of 141,309 hours and 1,848,393 kilometers driven by electric vehicles.
Each Mowasalat e-bus is custom-made for the region's climate and fitted with cutting-edge electronics to guarantee a comfortable, quiet, and environmentally friendly journey. Mowasalat claims that the legacy of the World Cup's public transportation fleet will be a more environmentally friendly transportation network in Qatar.
The environmental impact of the massive World Cup tournament has been greatly reduced thanks to Qatar being the first country in the world to use a large fleet of electric buses, as well as electric and hybrid taxis.
