The Nama Winter Carnival is organised by the Social Development Centre (Nama), one of the centres affiliated with Qatar Foundation for Social Work. The carnival is located in Al Wakra Old Souq and is open every weekend from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. until Friday, January 28, 2022.

It includes incubated projects in the form of home and micro-businesses, games, competitions, and art workshops for children. The stalls offer perfumes, clothes and accessories, handicrafts, toys, and t-shirt printing among others.

Mohamed al-Fadala, Executive Director of Nama, mentioned that the carnival helps small enterprises by providing a suitable environment and market presence. This also aligns with the vision and goals of Nama.

Al-Fadala recognised that this event focuses on strengthening the southern region and motivating visitors to explore incubated stores and project owners, as well as enhance support for entrepreneurs and display the reality of productive projects in the country. 

He also complimented ExxonMobil, the platinum sponsor of the carnival, for the consistent cooperation with Nama Centre and efforts made to help implement all the services and programmes.

Mohamed al-Abdul Ghani, Director of the Entrepreneurship Department at the Centre stated that Nama Winter Carnival has several different activities for family members, and provides opportunities by allowing them to display their projects and sell products. The workshops are made for young people with the focus of launching second class craftsmen and workshops for projects that involve specialised training.

The Director of the Communication and Media Office Nama said that the carnival includes an entertaining and educational programme focused on motivating visitors to explore incubated stores and project owners, indicating this as a great opportunity to enhance support for entrepreneurs
