Brazilian football star and Paris Saint-Germain player Neymar da Silva Santos Jr, who arrived in Doha early on Friday morning, successfully underwent an ankle surgery at Aspetar, Qatar’s orthopaedic and sports medicine hospital.
A highly qualified team of surgeons — Aspetar CMO Professor Peter D’hooghe, renowned ankle surgeon Pierre James Calder from Fortius Clinic London, and Brazilian national team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar — performed the surgery.

The ankle surgery went well and will spare the player the risk of a recurrence of the injury. The 31-year-old player will now undergo a period of rest and recovery from the operation.
This was Neymar Jr’s second visit to Aspetar. In January 2019, he underwent a series of medical tests and assessments at the hospital as part of his rehabilitation following a metatarsal injury from February 2018.
