Curbside access will be limited beginning on November 1st, Hamad International Airport (HIA) and Doha International Airport (DIA) stated on Monday.
According to a joint press statement from the airports, "this is to protect the security, safety, and comfort of all passengers and visitors during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and to ensure seamless operations."
Only authorised vehicles—including Mowasalat's limousines and taxis, authorized vehicles for people with reduced mobility, vehicles transporting passengers in Qatar Airways First and Business Class, and some airport shuttles—will have access to the arrival and departure curbsides, according to the release.
Only passengers in private automobiles will be permitted to arrive and depart from the airport parking lots at HIA and DIA.
The following parking fees will be charged:
- Short-Term Parking at the HIA: QAR 25 for a maximum of 30 minutes. QAR 100 for the following 15 minutes.
- Long-Term Parking at the HIA: QAR 25 for a maximum of 60 minutes. QAR 100 for the following 15 minutes. Free shuttle buses are provided from the parking lot to the HIA terminal.
- Parking at the DIA Arrivals Car Park costs QAR 25 for a maximum of 30 minutes. QAR 100 for the following 15 minutes.
The HIA provides travelers with a wide range of transportation choices that smoothly link the airport and the city. The airport's arrivals and departures hall is ideally close to the HIA bus pavilion, the HIA taxi pavilions, the metro stations, parking lots, and car rental and limousine services. Staff from the HIA and DIA will be on hand 24/7 to help travelers, as usual.
