One of the most significant statistical projects to gather the latest data of individuals, families, buildings, and establishments in Qatar, the general census 2020 is set to enter its final phase from March 22.
Offering a convenient way for the public to provide the required data, the Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA) has opened an online registration service for individuals and families.
This service will be available from March 4 to March 15, 2020.
Alternatively, people can fill in the statistical form manually or by sharing the information with surveyors who have been conducting field visits around the country, carrying hand-held, electronic devices.
The online service is part of the authority’s implementation of the final phase of the census and is in line with the Decision of the Council of Ministers No (4) of 2018 regarding conducting the general census of population, housing, and establishments for 2020.
“This service is currently available until March 15, noting that families and individuals who register in this service during the specified period will have the opportunity to fill in their census data electronically from March 22 to April 10, and without the need for a field visit,” PSA highlighted in a statement.

“This method is considered one of the latest technological methods applied in field censuses and surveys in collecting data through an online form available to all Qataris, whether inside or outside the country, in addition to non-Qataris residing within the country,” the statement adds.
PSA further pointed out that it will communicate with registered individuals through text messages to let them know about the date specified for completing the electronic form of the census.
The authority will also advise on how to enter the data to make sure it is accurate and its confidentiality is maintained (under the Official Statistics Law of 2011).
For those of you who may have any questions regarding the electronic form, the authority has provided a toll-free number that can be contacted: 8000800.
Likewise, you can visit PSA's website to know more.
