Ooredoo has announced that it climbed up 20 places in the recent home Internet Speed Test Global Index 2019 rankings, securing a spot ahead of several other countries in the region as well as some international IT powerhouses.

The impressive average speed provided to Qatar households has risen to 70Mbps, an improvement underpinned by Ooredoo’s implementation of a new strategy increasing home Internet speeds up to five times faster than before from February this year.

Ooredoo said it continues to invest and focus its efforts on the country's only nationwide fiber infrastructure to ensure the delivery of world-class unlimited home Internet at average speeds of up to 70Mbps and a maximum speed of 10Gbps.

“We’re rightfully proud of our fiber network and home Internet provision, and proud our commitment and hard work is paying off," said Waleed al-Sayed,  Ooredoo Qatar CEO.

"We’re working tirelessly to provide the best coverage and highest speeds to all homes across Qatar, and we’re extremely pleased to see this international recognition of our efforts and achievements," he added.

He further said, “We’re also pleased to share this good news with our customers, as it makes our Ooredoo ONE complete home connectivity and entertainment package an even more attractive proposition: everything they need for the whole family to stay connected and be entertained at home, as well as officially one of the fastest home internet speeds in the world.”

Ooredoo ONE offers customers internationally recognized super-fast home Internet, reliable Wi-Fi, great coverage, and awesome entertainment for the whole family, all in one package.
