A Jet Airways passenger, identified as 55-year-old Sohan Singh from New Delhi, India, passed away while onboard the aircraft flying to Doha. He is understood to have died of a cardiac arrest.
Jet Airways flight 9W 202, which started its journey from Delhi, made an emergency medical landing in Karachi, Pakistan, before returning to New Delhi.
“The passenger who died on board was identified as Sohan Singh from Delhi. He died of cardiac arrest onboard the flight though the plane was diverted to Karachi when his condition started worsening,” Jet Airways’ Qatar Manager Anshad Ebrahim told Qatar Tribune.
“The aircraft returned from Karachi to Delhi in the wee hours of Tuesday after the mortal remains were shifted to the cargo section inside the aircraft,” he added.
The 141 other passengers, who had to stay inside the plane for close to eight hours, were later taken to Doha in separate groups via Cochin and Mumbai.
