For a second month in row, petrol prices in Qatar will remain unchanged in May, the Ministry of Energy and Industry (MEI) announced on Thursday.
The ministry said the 91-octane premium gasoline will remain at QR1.60 while the 95-octane super gasoline will be at QR1.70. Diesel will cost QR1.60, same as last month.

Fuel prices in Qatar were regulated in response to changes in the global market from June last year. A special committee reviews fuel prices every month and make recommendations on proposed prices for the local market accordingly.
Doha News reports that petrol prices have seen an overall increase of 30 percent since prices started fluctuating last year, whereas Diesel has seen an increase of 10 percent.
