The Primary Heath Care Corporation (PHCC) has begun the resuming of regular services in its health centers from March 1, as a part of their second phase of the plan to return to increased patient capacity.  The three-phase plan was a part of their implementation strategy to be phased out in the three months between February till April 2022.

After the launch of the first phase, which was launched on February 1, 2022, proved so successful, PHCC has geared up for bigger implementation in the second and third phase. The first phase witnessed the operation of face-to-face consultations at 50% capacity across PHCC.

This time around, PHCC announced the launch of the second phase on their website, which started yesterday at March 1, 2022, the affiliated health centers are to operate at 75% capacity across all services. The purview also includes the operation of the family medicine, general departments, and even specialized dental services.

The provision of virtual services will be according to the discretion of the patient. The drive-through swabbing services will also continue to operate at the PHCCs throughout the entire week from 4 pm–11 pm. However, the Lusail Center for Examination and Vaccination has now closed.

Rawdat Al Khail Health Center is meant to continue as a health center dedicated to Covid-19 patients.

Considering the fact that nearly 89% of the country’s population has been vaccinated and the community has successfully ridden the recent surge of Omicron cases, the PHCCs continue to commit to their preventative measures to curb the spread of Covid-19. By ensuring safety and employing strict sanitary protocols across affiliated health centers through social distancing, use of protective personal equipment and strategic scheduling of appointments, PHCCs are committed to the public’s health and safety.
