Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) had marked the success of its spectator screening project for all spectators who had attended the FIFA Club World Cup.

In partnership with the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) and Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), PHCC aimed to support the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SDCL) in hosting the FIFA Club World Cup based on the sports protocols imposed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

PHCC played a vital role by managing all activities in relation to conducting the COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test for the spectators of the FIFA Club World Cup.

All spectators who attended the football event were required to get tested 72 hours before any of the exhibitions that took place during the tournament.

Additionally, the stadium capacity for spectators was limited to 25 percent and was in line with the health regulations and protocols in Qatar.

The Rapid Antigen Testing was conducted at the Qatar National Convention Centre and tested around 25,000 spectators.

A large amount of planning from a strategic to operational level was required to carry out this task which prioritized the safety of all attendants at the FIFA Club World Cup.

Dr. Yasmin Ali, PHCC Project Director, pointed out that timely communication and constant review of the process were what enabled them to make this project a success.
