With the launch of The Visa Award, fans are now given the opportunity to vote on one favorite Olympic and one Paralympic moment that transcended the competition itself.
The award was launched in celebration of Tokyo 2020’s inspiring moments, which is meant to celebrate friendship, inclusion, acceptance, and courage.
With the voice of the Olympic fans in mind, voters are given the opportunity to weigh in as part of The Visa Award.
Fans can vote starting today on the Tokyo 2020 FanZone platform, a new digital experience that both engages and unites audiences watching from around the world.

This Award recognizes moments that embody Visa’s belief that a more inclusive world uplifts everyone, everywhere and our shared values of friendship, inclusion, acceptance and courage. #TheVisaAward
Athletes who best exemplify Olympic and Paralympic values will be recognized throughout the Tokyo 2020 Games and a selection of the most emblematic moments will be added to the FanZone app and website for fan voting.
Eight Olympic nominees will advance for final voting on August 8 and six Paralympic athletes will advance for final voting on September 5.
The Visa Award winners will be celebrated during a virtual award ceremony. In recognition of their inspiring moments, the winners will be given a platform to host a virtual session on a topic of their choice to raise their own profile or promote a cause that is dear to them.
In addition, Visa will give each winning athlete the opportunity to choose an eligible charity to which Visa will donate $50,000 USD, in an effort to directly impact the community and promote equality and inclusion.
