Prime Minister and Interior Minister, His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani opened the 44th General Assembly of the Arab Police Sports Federation (APSF) yesterday.

At the opening ceremony, a documentary film on the activities of Qatar Police Sports Federation was presented, followed by a speech on behalf of the delegations of the participating countries, delivered by the head of the Sudanese Police Sports Federation’s delegation Major General Karim Eddin Mubarak Al Khalifa Fadl Al Sayed.

HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister then honored former Secretary-General of the Kuwaiti Police Sports Federation and former member of APSF Executive Bureau, Retired Major General HE Walid Ghanem Al Ghanem and former President of the Algerian Police Sports Federation, observer HE Belarbi Saleh Hamdan, in recognition of their efforts and contributions to the march of the Arab Police Sports Federation and their participation in several of its activities and programs.

HE also honored the President of Qatar Volleyball Association, Ali Ghanim Al Kuwari and Member of the Board of Directors of Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Special Needs Talib Abdullah Afifah Al Marri.

The opening ceremony was attended by ranking officers, officials of the Arab Police Sports Federation, delegations of the participating Arab police federations and guests.

Doha hosted the 44th General Assembly of the Arab Police Sports Federation and 107th the Executive Office meeting as well as the 8th Arab Police Cross Country Championship.

Fourteen countries participated in the General Assembly and Executive Office meetings comprising State of Kuwait, Sultanate of Oman, Lebanon, Jordan, Yemen, Sudan, Palestine, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania, Somalia in addition to the State of Qatar.
