Qatar and Turkey's friendship has been going strong for several years. With Turkey's powerful support extended to Qatar during the early days of the Gulf crisis, the relations between the two nations took new heights.
Turkey considers Qatar to be its strongest ally, according to a recent interview by Dr Yasin Aktay, Adviser to the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who hailed the exemplary Qatari-Turkish relations.
Among other areas, the economic and trade cooperation between the two brotherly countries has also been flourishing. At the end of 2018 trade between Qatar and Turkey was estimated to have topped the $2bn mark, reflecting a 54 percent jump in contrast to the previous year.
To further cement relations through continued partnerships and strategic cooperation, the two nations combined efforts to hold the Qatari-Turkish Business Forum, titled "Investment Opportunities in Qatar."
HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani and Turkish Vice-President Fuat Oktay opened the Forum yesterday.

Qatar's Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Qatar Chamber and the Turkish Ministry of Customs and Trade in Ankara have jointly organized the high-level event.
HE the Prime Minister delivered a speech on the occasion, saying that the common denominators between the two countries constitute a solid base for the development and strengthening of economic and trade relations.
He added that the Qatari-Turkish economic and trade partnership is clear evidence of the effectiveness of the decisions and actions taken in recent years in the implementation of the directives of the leaders of the two countries.
HE the Prime Minister also lauded the efforts of the Turkish private sector and the aspiration to enable the Qatari and Turkish businessmen to establish successful projects for mutual benefit.
He pointed out that this meeting reflects the keenness to communicate between the two sides, exchange views, and highlight the promising investment opportunities and coordinate joint efforts to consolidate economic integration with Turkey.
Several ministers, senior officials, business owners, and Turkish businessmen attended the opening ceremony.
Meanwhile, Turkish Vice-President Fuad Aktay affirmed the solid relations between Qatar and Turkey, noting that the two countries offer a model of solidarity for the whole world by supporting each other under difficult circumstances.
In his speech during the Forum, Vice-President Aktay praised the thriving trade and economic relations between Qatar and Turkey, noting that the two countries are currently celebrating the 46th anniversary of diplomatic relations, and are proud of the level of cooperation between them.
He expressed confidence that the Forum will further consolidate the existing relations with the friendly and brotherly Qatar and contribute to the continuation of cooperation.
The Turkish vice-president praised Qatar's remarkable progress in becoming a brand for investors, especially in the field of energy and technology.
He also expressed hope to see an increased number of Qatari businessmen exploring investment opportunities in the tourism sector, food, health and manufacturing in Turkey.
