As Qatar's preparations for the first Shura Council elections continue in full swing, His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani inspected the central headquarters of the candidates' committee at Qatar University yesterday.
HE the PM ensured that all preparations for registering candidates were in place during his visit to the headquarters.
The registration of candidates for the Shura Council elections will commence on Sunday, August 22, 2021, and continue until Thursday, August 26, 2021.

Several ranking officials at the Ministry of Interior as well as officials at the supervisory committee and the executive committees concerned with the Shura Council joined HE the PM on the visit.
Following his visit to the headquarters, HE Sheikh Khalid said in a tweet, "Today I reviewed the preparations for the registration process for candidates in the Shura Council elections, which will start next Sunday at the headquarters of the Candidates Committee at Qatar University. This process is an important step in consolidating our experience in the Shura Council by electing members of the Council next October."
