As several students returned to school with the start of the new academic year 2020/2021 in Qatar on September 1, His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani visited some state schools to inspect preventive and precautionary measures in place.
Schools across the country are required to comply with the safety precautions recommended by the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) to ensure students and staff are protected against COVID-19.
HE the Prime Minister visited three schools yesterday to speak to students about their study experience and distance learning.
The schools include: Omar Bin Al Khattab Independent Preparatory School for Boys, Al Bayan Second Primary School for Girls, and Qatar Science and Technology Secondary School for Boys.
During the visit, HE the Prime Minister was also briefed on the various educational arrangements and health preparations made for the new academic year (2020/2021) in light of the pandemic.

He inspected several classrooms, laboratories, isolation rooms, and halls at the schools.
As part of the visit, HE the Prime Minister emphasized on the importance of preserving public health and educating young people about the need to follow the recommended measures.
He also acknowledged the efforts of the education sector for continuing distance learning amid the COVID-19 situation and for the increased use of technological achievements in this field.
