The weather in Doha in the last few days had been windy, dusty and hot. If one thought a respite in the conditions was in sight, they could not be more mistaken.

Qatar’s meteorological department has warned residents that the extreme conditions would persist in different parts of the country today, reported Gulf Times.

On Tuesday, temperatures had risen to 47C in Al Rayyan and 46C in Doha, and there were also strong winds and dusty conditions.

The Met Department, in its three-day general forecast, predicted that strong winds are once again expected in most areas along with poor visibility. In some places, visibility will drop to just 2km.

Strong winds, high seas and poor visibility are also expected in offshore areas.

On Wednesday, there will be a slight respite in temperature, with a maximum temperature of 43C likely to be experienced in Doha, Mesaieed and Al Wakrah. Al Khor is expected to have a maximum temperature of 42C.

The Met department had earlier said that northwesterly windy conditions — locally called ‘Al Bawarih’ — were expected to last until this weekend, especially from Tuesday until Thursday.

People using highways should be extra careful as there is a chance of visibility dropping sharply very fast.

If you are looking for ways to stay safe during dusty conditions, then this circular, issued by the Ministry of Public Health in May, 2016, will be very useful.

Be careful and stay safe, everyone.
