Qatar's generosity has really shone through its numerous humanitarian efforts, carried out particularly amid the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
While it intensifies its fight against the virus locally, through enhanced tracking and testing, implementing strict preventive measures, and ensuring the availability of medical facilities to manage COVID-19 cases, the country has not hesitated to support other nations as they combat the global threat.
Under His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani's directives, Qatar has extended a helping hand to several countries in need of support during these testing times.
In addition to China, Italy, Iran, Lebanon, Palestine, the country sent urgent medical aid to four more countries recently including Algeria, Tunisia, Rwanda, and Nepal.
A Qatar Air Force plane carrying urgent medical aid to the sisterly Republic of Tunisia arrived at the Tozeur International Airport yesterday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed.

According to the statement, the aid comprises a field hospital granted by Qatar's Ministry of Defense to the Tunisian National Defense. The 10/80-meter-field hospital contains 100 beds and 20 ventilators.
Meanwhile, during a telephonic conversation with HH the Amir yesterday, the President of the Republic of Tunisia Kais Saied expressed his gratitude and acknowledged Qatar's support to his country to contain the COVID-19 outbreak.
During the call, the two leaders also reviewed bilateral relations and looked at ways to bolster them further, Qatar News Agency reported.

Meanwhile, health authorities in the country continue to implement the highest level of monitoring, detection, and management procedures to deal with the virus, the public has been advised to follow certain measures to safeguard their health.
