Qatar Skydiving Team Wins Gold at World Cup League Final in Switzerland

Qatar’s national skydiving team, “Al-Hadaf,” won the gold medal after finishing first in the team competition at the World Cup League – Locarno Final (SWCS Locarno Final), held in Locarno, Switzerland, with the participation of 35 teams representing 16 countries.

The Qatari achievement came after strong competition featuring some of the world’s leading skydiving teams. The members of “Al-Hadaf” delivered technically strong, consistent and outstanding performances throughout the tournament, securing first place and taking the gold medal.

With this achievement, Qatar’s team strengthened its position among the leading skydiving teams internationally after outperforming several highly experienced teams in intense competition that continued until the final stages. The victory reflects the development of Qatar’s aerial sports and the efforts made to prepare and equip national teams for international participation.

“Al-Hadaf” is considered one of the world’s leading skydiving teams, having achieved notable results and accomplishments in major competitions. Its Locarno victory adds a new gold achievement to Qatar’s sporting record.

Major General Mohammed bin Zayed Al Otaibi, Commander of the Special Forces and Chairman of the Qatar Air Sports Committee, praised “Al-Hadaf’s” gold-medal achievement, stressing that the victory was the result of the team’s significant efforts to reach the highest levels of readiness and compete for first place against the world’s top teams.

“We are proud of what the members of Al-Hadaf have achieved by winning this honourable gold medal, which reflects the high level of competence, determination, resolve and competitive spirit of Qatar’s sons,” he said, congratulating the players, technical and administrative staff, and everyone who contributed to the achievement.

He noted that the victory was the result of continuous work, precise training, discipline, commitment and self-confidence, alongside teamwork. “We are proud of every member of this team and every effort made to achieve this success. Maintain this spirit and make every success a step toward a greater achievement. Our ambitions will always be focused on first place, and our goal is to keep Qatar’s flag present on the international podiums,” he added.

Abdulaziz Al Hajaji, captain of “Al-Hadaf,” expressed his happiness at finishing first and winning the gold medal, saying: “We dedicate this valuable achievement and gold medal to Qatar, its leadership and its people. We are proud to raise Qatar’s flag high on the world podiums.”
