Al Shaqab, a member of Qatar Foundation, will host the fourth edition of the Al Shaqab International Arabian Horse Championship 2026 from November 4 to 7.

The four-day event will take place at Al Shaqab’s outdoor arena with the support of the Social and Sports Activities Support Fund (DAAM) and under the patronage of HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Shaqab.

Registration open until October 1

Al Shaqab has opened registration for owners and studs wishing to enter horses across the championship’s various categories.

Registration runs from September 20 until October 1, 2026.

The event is expected to attract purebred Arabian horses, breeders and owners from Qatar and other countries.

Category B championship under ECAHO supervision

The championship is classified as a Category B event and will be held under the supervision of the European Conference of Arab Horse Organizations (ECAHO).

Participation gives competing horses an opportunity to progress within the international Arabian horse show circuit and potentially qualify for higher-level competitions.

Building on last year’s edition

The 2026 championship follows the success of the third edition, which attracted strong participation from studs, owners and breeders from several countries.

Organisers said the previous edition helped strengthen the event’s position within the Arabian horse beauty championship calendar through both the quality of competition and the level of organisation.

Promoting Arabian horse heritage

Khalid Al Juhani, Championship Director and Director of Production and Beauty at Al Shaqab, said the fourth edition reflects Al Shaqab’s commitment to preserving the heritage of the Arabian horse and strengthening its international profile.

The championship also serves as a meeting point for owners, breeders and Arabian horse enthusiasts, while highlighting the breed’s cultural importance in Qatar and the wider Arab world.

Through the event, Al Shaqab aims to continue supporting the preservation of purebred Arabian horses and reinforce Qatar’s position on the global equestrian map.
