The Qatar paramotor team, affiliated with the Qatar Air Sports Committee under the Joint Special Forces, won four medals—two gold and two silver—at the Slalom World Cup 2026 – Spanish Open, which concluded on 31 October, continuing its distinguished presence in international competitions.
The competition featured 39 paramotor pilots representing five countries: Qatar, France, Poland, Czechia and host nation Spain.
The Qatar team won two gold and two silver medals across the Foot Launcher, Trike and Trike – Serial categories. Nayef Al Balushi claimed first place and the gold medal in the Foot Launcher category after making his presence felt throughout the championship, while Ibrahim Al Banna took first place and gold in the Trike category, adding another achievement to Qatari sport and confirming the two athletes’ ability to compete for top positions and reach the podium.
The Qatar team completed its medal haul with two silvers after Hayan Al Ahbabi finished second in the Trike category and Saeed Mullhia placed second in the Trike – Serial category. The team concluded its participation with four medals—two gold and two silver—in a result reflecting the advanced technical level attained by Qatar’s paramotor champions.
The achievement extends the successes of the Qatar Air Sports Committee under the Joint Special Forces and its continuing efforts to develop national teams, raise its athletes’ standards and strengthen the presence of Qatari air sports at international events.
Saeed Al Marri, commander of the paramotor team, expressed his happiness at winning four medals in the championship. He said the achievement reflected the spirit of teamwork, the considerable efforts made by the team members and their ability to compete against an elite field of international pilots.
He said the results were the product of good preparation and continuous planning, alongside the support received by the team from the leadership of the Joint Special Forces and the Qatar Air Sports Committee. He expressed his aspiration to continue achieving success and reaching the podium in upcoming competitions.
Nayef Al Balushi, the Foot Launcher gold medallist, said the competition had not been easy amid the presence of some of the best pilots and their determination to deliver their strongest performances and results. He noted that paramotor races leave no room for error and that fine details make the difference between competitors.
Ibrahim Al Banna, winner of the Trike gold medal, said the victory resulted from good preparation despite the strength of the competition and the close technical standards. He added that the team’s four-medal haul reflected its collective spirit and expressed his aspiration to continue winning titles and raising Qatar’s flag at international events.
