Qatar announces winners of first Private Sector Nationalisation Awards

Qatar’s Ministry of Labour has announced the winners of the Sectoral and Thematic Awards for Entities under the inaugural Qatar Private Sector Nationalisation Award 2026.

The award recognises private sector organisations demonstrating strong performance in attracting, employing, developing and empowering Qatari talent.

Sectoral winners announced

Among the winners displayed by the Ministry of Labour are:

• Ooredoo — Information Technology and Digital Services Sector
• Katara Hospitality — Tourism Sector
• United Development Company (UDC) — Construction and Building Sector
• Qatar National Bank (QNB) — Financial Services Sector

The Ministry’s announcement also indicates that the awards for the Healthcare Sector and Manufacturing Sector were withheld.

Recognising nationalisation efforts

The Qatar Private Sector Nationalisation Award covers organisations and individuals and spans nine major economic sectors, including financial services, information technology and digital transformation, healthcare, manufacturing, education, tourism, logistics and services, construction, and food and agriculture. The award was established under Amiri Decision No. 27 of 2025 to encourage competition among private sector organisations in achieving nationalisation goals and to recognise outstanding Qatari professionals and organisations contributing to workforce development. QNA

Supporting Qatari talent in the private sector

The initiative forms part of the broader Empowering Qatar nationalisation agenda, which seeks to increase the participation of Qataris in private-sector employment while developing sustainable career pathways and strengthening national human capital. Qatar Tribune
