Ooredoo wins Qatar Private Sector Nationalisation Award

Ooredoo Qatar has received the Qatar Private Sector Nationalisation Award in the Information Technology and Digital Services sector, recognising its efforts to develop and empower Qatari talent.

The award, organised by Qatar’s Ministry of Labour under its Himmah initiative, recognises private-sector organisations contributing to nationalisation, workforce development and the long-term sustainability of Qatar’s labour market.

Developing Qatari talent

Ooredoo said its nationalisation strategy focuses on attracting, developing and retaining Qatari employees while providing opportunities for professional and leadership development.

The company’s programmes include learning and development opportunities, career progression pathways and exposure to emerging technologies and new areas of the digital economy.

Ooredoo said its approach is intended to help Qatari professionals develop specialised skills and progress into leadership roles within the company.

Sheikh Ali bin Jabor bin Mohammad Al Thani, CEO of Ooredoo Qatar, said the recognition reflects the company’s continued investment in national talent.

He said Qatarisation goes beyond meeting recruitment targets and forms part of Ooredoo’s wider strategy to build an organisation in which Qatari professionals contribute to growth and innovation.

Qatar’s private-sector nationalisation award

The Qatar Private Sector Nationalisation Award was established to recognise companies that meet nationalisation targets and contribute to developing Qatari capabilities in the private sector.

The award covers several economic sectors and also recognises individuals for achievements at different stages of their careers.

The initiative forms part of Qatar’s wider efforts to increase the participation of citizens in the private-sector workforce and develop skills aligned with the country’s future economic needs.

Ooredoo said the recognition reinforces its commitment to building national capabilities and supporting the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.
