The Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s (MOCI) website has now launched a Qatar Business Map portal in accordance with the requirements of Law No. (1) of 2020 on the Unified Economic Register.

The portal includes a database of basic information, data, and documents of basic establishments, legal arrangements, non-profit organizations, and freelancers. Such information will be available for the common public and interested stakeholders. Through this step, the Ministry intends to present transparency for economic and financial transactions while also aligning with the Financial Action Task Force (FATC) requirements.

MOCI announced the above news on their social media and stated that the portal aims to enhance the business services system in Qatar.

All interested parties, public, and stakeholders can view information about various commercial establishments by visiting the Qatar Business Map page.

The portal provides information that forms a part of the comprehensive database for users. Key data features include viewing options for investment advantages of Qatar’s various regions through a search service for commercial establishments per region, and available activities. The number of commercial licenses registered in each municipality, the latest establishments in Qatar, and new & signed-off commercial licenses are also represented by statistics on the portal.

While the information is present to the public and stakeholders, interested investors and entrepreneurs can benefit from the displayed data by accessing their target customer base. The statistics on the Qatar Business Map portal can aid businesses to select ideal business locations, making decisions about profitable business activities, and also doing a competitive analysis of other rivals in their field. This would aid them in making business-feasible decisions in a specific area.
