Qatar Charity (QC) has distributed 2,500 meals to various Asian expatriate families and workers affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. 

The distribution of the meals, in which many volunteers participated, took place in cooperation with the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs, forums, councils, and committees of Asian communities.

The meals have benefited the workers and families belonging to the Indian, Bangladeshi, Malaysian, Sri Lankan, Nepalese, Filipino, Pakistani and Indonesian communities.

 The meals were distributed under the supervision of the Qatar Charity Center for Community Development for Asian expatriates (Friend Cultural Center) in many areas of Qatar, including Al Wakrah, Al Rayyan, Mansoura and Al Hilal.

Earlier Qatar Charity joined hands with Ikea, Talabat to distribute food packets to workers and their families affected by COVID-19 pandemic.

As part of its humanitarian and social services provided in the country, Qatar Charity has earlier distributed 13,262 food parcels to various expatriate communities residing in the State of Qatar in cooperation with their embassies, benefiting nearly 53,048 Asian, African and Arab expatriates.

In this regard, Qatar Charity has cooperated with 20 embassies, including those of Kenya, Nepal, the Philippine, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, India, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Mali, and Sri Lanka.

Qatar Charity has earlier given health bags to workers, in addition to distributing multilingual awareness leaflets and publishing 30 videos in four languages; Arabic, English, Hindi, and Pilipino.

The embassies thanked Qatar Charity for extending support to their communities in Qatar, which confirms the strength of the relations between their countries and the State of Qatar where people are known with their love to do good and help others, especially in the times of adversity.

Following the Beirut Explosion that caused large-scale devastation in the city, 'Lebanon in Our Hearts' campaign organized by Qatar's Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA) in cooperation with Qatar Charity (QC) and the Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) ongoing fundraising campaign has raised over QR94 million until now.

Additionally, joining the country’s humanitarian efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Lebanese people following the Beirut ExplosionQatar Airways announced that it has tied up with Qatar Charity (QC), Monoprix Qatar and Talabat to launch an aid program in support of Lebanon. The program will allow citizens and residents of Qatar to donate essential supplies to those affected by the tragedy.

The campaign calls upon citizens, residents, and businesses in Qatar to help the Lebanese people through their contributions. Donations will support relief and restoration efforts in Beirut, in addition to providing food and medical assistance to the affectees.
